The Annual ProSculpt Scholarship Contest recognizes dolls ...
Artist: Ray Ward
This Father Christmas is made of ProSculpt, with fur and fabric. It is designed after the character from the film "The Chronicles of Narnia". The completed doll is 35 inches tall. The inspiration for this doll was the film "The Chronicles of Narnia". Ray is new at sculpting he entered the contest after having been told by one of his friends that he was pretty good, I have to agree with his friend. Jack Johnston.
Artist: Liudmila Rybalchenko
Marie is 18 inches tall. Her head and limbs are hand sculpted over a wire armature with fabric and lace dress. Her beads and necklace are hand made of polymer clay. All of the accessories including the rose are made by the artist. The doll is painted with oil paint. She was inspired by the artists love of European history.
The Red Hat Ladies are more than an organization they have become a legend. This doll is hand sculpted with ProSculpt Caucasian Flesh over a wire armature and a hand made fabric costume. The hands and boots are hand crafted by Wendy. She was inspired to sculpt this doll by seeing the "Red Hat Ladies" at all of the doll shows. If the truth was known I think this doll could "spit" if she wanted to. If you don't understand the use of the word "Spit" you must read the poem, "When I get old I shall wear purple"
The "Day Dreamer" is sculpted out of ProSculpt Ethnic Brown clay. This 18" doll is sculpted over a wire armature and is attached to a hand sewn fabric body. The artist is a devout "Day Dreamer" herself. She dreams of becoming a professional doll maker.
Artist: Renet Segura
This is Renet's first sculpture made out of ProSculpt Caucasian Flesh clay. The artist sculpted the rider, the horse and the dog all out of ProSculpt clay. The hair used for the vignette came from the artists own head. She is developing a name for herself in Arizona as a "western artist".
Artist: Philomena Donnelly
This 20" life scale doll is sculpted with ProSculpt Baby Clay. It has sculpted head, hands, arms, legs and feet attached to a fabric posable body. The artist has shown her own hand and forearm to show realism and to help us understand the scale of the sculpture. Philomena Donnelly is a resident of Belfast Northern Ireland.
Artist: Bettina Sanschagrin
This 13 inch doll is made of ProSculpt Caucasian Flesh clay. The costume is made of fabric and leather over a wire armature. The hands and boots are made of ProScupt and painted. The head has hand sculpted and painted eyes. The whip, gun, holster belts and hat are all hand made by Bettina. She was inspired by the Indiana Jones fims.
Shaylee "Queen of the Forest" is sculpted of ProSculpt Caucasian Flesh clay. She is animated to fly into the air in front of a life-like forest. We have chosen to show her without her back drop vignette for clarity of the sculpture. You may see the full doll, and the vignette in this same gallery. The costume, sculpture and the mechanical movement for the vignette are all made by Joe MacPhale. To fully appreciate this sculpture you must see in person.
Artist: Aleeta Kent
This 14" doll is sculpted of ProSculpt Caucasian Flesh. The hair is black Llama Sibre. The 18th Century dress is made of velvet and satin with lace. The earrings, and bracelet are hand made with seedbeads. The cat is also hand sculpted by the artists. By the way Dr. Aleeta Kent is a veterinarian.
Artist: Christine Wex
The Medicine Man's Apprentice is 1/10th scale. He is made of ProSculpt Ethnic Brown clay. The warrior is hand sculpted out of ProSculpt clay. The Rino and his accessories are also sculpted by Christine. The hair is black corredale wool. The elephant grass fits the scale of the vignette perfectly, even though it is actually the artists yard. That gives you a clear understanding of the scale of the sculpture.
Sculpted of ProSculpt Baby Clay, this 21" life scale doll has sculpted head, hands and feet. The body is a soft sculpted fabric body with posable limbs. The dark blue eyes are blown glass. Her life like skin tones and texture won her first place. I have actually seen this doll in person, I predict you it will be seen as a reproduction in the next few months. Jack Johnston
This life scale doll is sculpted of ProSculpt Baby Clay. The 3/4 arms and legs are attached to a soft hand sculpted posable body. The shoes are off the rack at her local baby doll store. That is the great thing about sculpting life scale babies, they become very easy to dress. The vignette helps to bring this baby to life.
