I have the DVD with Pat Moulton, and it is very good. Although, I make mostly miniature baby dolls, I found that I could use the information in sculpting them.

I thank you all for the information and websites; I will be looking through the pictures. I have been very busy and this is my first time back to the forums for a while. I ordered the DVD this morning and am anxiously awaiting its delivery, and as soon as you release the book I will order it too. I have been making dolls for many years and every time I read another book I learn something new. This DVD seems to be exactly what I need. Thanks, Jack for anticipating our needs and providing all these wonderful resources. I still remember years ago when I first met ProSculpt, compared to other clays it was a godsend. It was everything you said would be, and I have never looked back, I still have many other brands stored unused. Thanks again.

We have completed the filming of Pat Moultons new DVD. We will have it edited and published in about two weeks. Yes, it does show the mouth, ears and eyes. It is a very thorough approach to sculpting a baby.

Thank you Jack, I have done that before with dolls I did before but I guess it is hard to find a picture of a newborn that is not in the fetal position. They are never lying straight; they always seem foreshortened at some point. Thanks again, I was just hoping there was easier reference available. I will look more diligently for a picture on the internet.

The best way I have found to get the scale perfect on your baby dolls is to photograph a live baby. Take the photograph to Alphagraphics or Kinkos and ask them to blow the photo up to the exact size you want the sculpted doll to be. You may now use calapers to measure the arms, legs, feet, hands, etc. This should help you with everything from the size of the eyes, mouth, nose, etc. Let me know if you need anything else. Jack

Subject:A Question about baby Dolls

Hello everyone I am new to this forum, I’m Claire Taylor and I’ve been making dolls for many years but never perused anything but the satisfaction I got from making the doll. I’d like to step it up a notch. I have been told my dolls look great, but everyone always said that ever when they did not look so great. I like to make baby dolls, but I am not sure of the proportions I have tried to get a good book on making baby dolls but it seems the books I found are for beginners and I want to make very realistic dolls. I am interested in newborns and preemies but I seem to find everything about babies 6 months and older. Does anyone have suggestions? I also have a problem with my dolls having blemishes after the clay is baked no matter how clean the area is. My problems are moonies or just little white spots. Can anyone recommend a book? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
